Ok, so clearly there will be more stringent building regulations for new homes ultimately resulting in a zero carbon home, but what about the millions of existing homes ? Here is the link to the Goverment’s Consulation documents. What this ultimately boils down to is - how are home owners going to spend out £1000’s to retrofit super insulation to their homes and use renewable technologies to significantly reduce their footprint ?

I suspect the usual economics applies here - early adoptors will pay a premium but as it scales up, one would hope that the cost would start to drop. Even then if a reduction in costs is achieved, will this still be “affordable” ?
