There will be a combination of renewable technologies that will form an overal solution to the goal of achieving a zero energy usage for the house, which will also contribute towards reducing our carbon footprint. There is a minimum configuration of appliance that need to be operational in the event of a power cut :-

• Freezer
• Refrigerator
• Central heating pump
• Pump for Solar

Or in other words, the amount of Kwh over one year for these appliance should be offset by PV.
