Specification for HD  TV at 8 Piping Close

Summary

Replace Sky box with Freesat box and supply TV to living room and Dormer room. Living room system to be integrated into Hifi system.

• New flatscreen HD TV for living Room.
• Replace Hifi amplifier.
• Ability to record programs (in HD) equivalent to Sky+ (in living room only)
• Use existing speakers and add 3 other speakers to create cinema system in living room.
• Blueray / DVD player
• Ability to plug-in iPod through hifi.
• All wiring to be hidden.

Front Elevation

Existing dish needs to be moved because external wall insulation and rendering will be applied to existing wall. This needs to be mounted on a pole and the wiring re-directed through the wall and ground level into the garage.

Plan Elevation

New utility room will contain all the equipment for Hifi and TV.

Additional equipment will be

• PVR equivalent to SKY+
• PVR box in Dormer for Sony TV (or share living room PVR ?)
• Blueray / DVD player
• HiFi replacing marantz amplifier
• Low powered HD TV
• Additional 2 speakers to supplement 2 Tannoy speakers
• Woofer placed underfloor.
• Remote control.

Installation

• Reposition the satellite
• Relay cables to PVR (SKY+ equivalent) in utility room.
• Lay cables through box to Dormer (in corner of living room)
• Provide / Install appropriate sockets for loud speaker system.
• Mount TV appropriately (See decisions below).
• Ensure HiFi and TV are integrated together.

Decisions

• Can we hide the TV in the living room?
• What sort of woofer speaker can be installed under the floor and provide enough sound through it?
• Additional speakers (3 & 4) - can they be hidden in the wall?
